Sudwire Newsroom

14-day free trial

Your area’s news, drafted before you wake up

Sudwire checks the police, council and government websites in your area every few minutes, day and night, and drafts the stories your readers will care about. Your editor checks them in WordPress before anything goes live.

Free for 14 days on Starter and Pro, up to 5 articles a day. A card is needed to start, and nothing is charged before day 14. Then from $47 a month.

Step 3

Your editor approves

Drafts arrive in WordPress with a photo and a link to the original source.

Sources

Written from official sources, not from other newsrooms

Every article starts from a police, council or agency release, and the source is linked at the bottom.

  • Their YouTube channels too, and on Pro and Agency their Facebook, Bluesky and Mastodon accounts
  • Stories from other outlets only appear as leads for you to follow up

Editors

Your editor decides what gets published

Stories about crime, courts and deaths always wait for a person to approve them.

  • Photos come from sources that allow reuse, with a credit line
  • Edit any draft in WordPress before it goes out

FAQ

Common questions

Will it copy other news sites?

No. Articles are written only from official sources such as police, councils and government agencies. Other outlets’ stories can be listed for you as leads, and they are never rewritten.

Can it publish without anyone checking?

Only if you turn automatic publishing on, and even then stories about crime, courts, deaths, minors, health emergencies or elections wait for an editor.

How does pricing work?

Each plan has a base price plus a price per article a day, and you choose the number of articles. The more you take, the less each one costs, and you can change the number at any time. Paying yearly saves 17%.

Do I need WordPress?

Yes, for now: a self-hosted WordPress site, or a WordPress.com plan that allows plugins. Install the free plugin, paste your connection key, and drafts arrive as posts waiting for review.

Which places and languages?

Anywhere with official sources online. Scout knows the US, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Ireland best, and articles are written in your site’s language.

What do I get during the free trial?

Everything in the plan you pick, writing up to 5 articles a day for a site with the plugin connected. A card is needed to start. If you don’t want to wait, you can start your plan early from the Billing page and get all your articles a day straight away.

Is it safe for search?

Search engines penalise sites that pump out thin, mass-produced pages. Sudwire caps how many articles it writes each day, skips minor items, and your editor sees every draft before it goes live.

When is my card charged?

On Starter and Pro, when the 14-day trial ends. If you cancel from the Billing page before then, you aren’t charged at all. Agency is charged when you sign up, with 20% off the first month.

Can I change plans later?

Yes, from the Billing page. The new plan applies straight away and the price difference is prorated.

What happens if I cancel?

Your plan carries on to the end of the period you paid for, then stops. Articles already in WordPress stay on your site, and you can download all your data from the Account page.

Who owns the articles?

You do. Use, edit and publish them as you like. Each one links to the official source it came from.

Can I get a refund?

Yes. Ask within 14 days of your first payment and we refund it in full. The refund policy, linked at the bottom of the page, has the details.

Does it work for several sites?

Agency covers up to 5 sites. Your articles a day are shared between them, and each site has its own sources and settings.
